<div id="bodycontent"><h2>What is EditThisPagePHP?</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP is a tool for collaborative editing online. Pages can be made editable by authorized
users, or anyone with something to contribute. Every version of a page is retained, so content is
never lost.
</p>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP combines features of:
<ul>

    <li>Blogs: optional user comments, sending and receiving trackbacks, and RSS feeds,</li>

    <li>Wikis: an edit-this-page button, page history, page diffs, and it can email users when pages change,</li>
<li>Content Management Systems: multiple roles (by default a reader, an editor, and a super-editor),
each with different privileges.</li>

</ul>

</p>
<p>
Originally created for management of a single page, EditThisPagePHP has been extended so
that multiple pages can be managed from a single configuration file. You can copy a page
from the administration panel, and the new page will use the same configuration as the
original.
</p>

you can do with EditThisPagePHP

<h2>2006-12-26: Version 0.8 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP 0.8 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.<br/>
The 0.8 release contains some improvements to the plugin handling, such as installer-configurations, a brand new plugin for Akismet (anti-spam), and a new upgrade feature, which lets you upgrade existing ETP installations, preserving your old settings. (Just copy install-etp.php to the directory and open it up and it will detect an existing ETP installation and grab all settings.)
</p>
<h2>Version 0.7a4 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP 0.7a4 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.<br/>
(Versions 0.7a2-3 were released but were so minor we didn't even announce them.)
Mostly stabilizing and bug fixing. Lots of fixes especially in the SETP plugin.
</p>
<h2>Version 0.7a1 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP 0.7a1 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.<br/>
This release is the first in the 0.7 series, and includes plugin support. A new package is also available on the SourceForge Project called etp-plugins, whose intended purpose is to be a collection of various plugins for use in ETP. It currently has one plugin which integrates EditThisPage with <a href="http://www.synchroedit.com/">SynchroEdit</a>. More to come.
</p>
<h2>Version 0.6b4 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP 0.6b4 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.<br/>
This release includes trackback moderation.
</p>
<h2>Version 0.6b3 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP 0.6b3 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.<br/>
This release includes e.g. comment moderation, a few bug fixes, and such. The next release will include trackback moderation as well. With this release, it seemed prudent to fix up the actual ETP web site (i.e. kill all the spam comments and turn comments moderation on). If a legitimate comment of yours was deleted, apologies! Please comment again.
</p>
<h2>Version 0.6b2 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP  0.6b2 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.<br/>
<i>Update: This version, due to an oops, only works on PHP 5. The 0.6b3 release has been fixed to work on 4.</i>
</p>
<p>
Another minor release. The only new feature so far is the page include functionality, as I settle into the role of the new maintainer. The full <a href="CHANGELOG">CHANGELOG is available here</a>.
</p>
<h2>Version 0.6b1 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP  0.6b1 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.
</p>
<p>
This is a minor release. New features include HTML now being allowed in comments (allowed tags can be set via a configuration option. By default paragraph, break, list and anchor tags are allowed), and anchor tags within comment bodies have the <a href="http://www.google.com/googleblog/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html">rel="nofollow" attribute</a> added. The full <a href="CHANGELOG">CHANGELOG is available here</a>.
</p>
<h2>Version 0.6b0 Released</h2>
<p>
EditThisPagePHP  0.6b0 is available for <a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>.
</p>
<p>
New features include expanding comments and trackbacks in the RSS feeds, regular expression rules for filtering comments (to combat comment spam), "no feed" comments to allow page maintainers to prevent parts of a page from being included in the feeds, and a number of bug fixes. The full <a href="CHANGELOG">CHANGELOG is available here</a>.
</p>
<h2>Online Demo</h2>
<a href="/demo/index.php">An online demo of EditThisPagePHP</a>
is available. Feel free to try it out and experiment. Access the editing functions by clicking the &quot;&gt;&quot; symbol
at the bottom of the page. Username is "editor", password "editor".
</p>
<p>
Note that only the main body content is editable. This is similar to the default configuration where only
super-editors have access to the page header and footer.

<h2>Version 0.5b3 Released</h2>
<p>
The latest version of EditThisPagePHP (0.53b) is available for
<a href="http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=95462">download</a>. Installation is as
simple as uploading a single file and directing your browser to it. The step-by-step installation
wizard will walk you through the rest. Please see <a href="installation.php">the installation instructions</a>
for further details.

    <br />    <p>
    All of the pages here on sourceforge use the ETP code, but only those pages intended for editing by normal users have the > button (basically, just the demo).<br />
<br />
I've also fixed it so that demo moved the edit tags out of the body area so that they couldn't be accidently (or deliberately) removed by a demo user.

    Would love to see dates posted next to each version for each new release. I downloaded and installed 0.5b2 not *too* long ago, but can more easily judge whether I need to upgrade by whether the new version is, say, dated during August when I did the install during July. Whoa. just double checked and I installed on August 10; you've generated 7 versions within a month's time--wow. prodigious. But all the more reason for a date.

    Susan,<br />
<br />
I will definitely start adding dates to the releases. Good catch. As for the 7 versions, hm, no, I've released 3 versions the last couple of months as far as I can tell. Most of them minor, except the 0.7 release.
